Latest TWPT Updates and Announcements 07-31-2010 Perhaps you may have noticed that updates at TWPT are coming quicker these days and we are offering the faithful readers of the website more material to bring them back more often. I am going to start using the announcements page here to make readers aware of the new materials that are being added to the site and where to find the updates. I used to do something like this when we had groups over on Yahoo but those days are long gone so I wanted to find a way to communicate to the readers about what new material may have been added to the website in the recent past. This will be the place to check for those interested. Or my Facebook page as well. I added a new article from Boudica on the articles page entitled Reading Tarot for Friends http://www.twpt.com/readingforfriends.htm and if you have ever done readings for friends or family you might want to check out this article. Actually I am reprinting the article from where it originally appeared in the Llewellyn Tarot Almanac since the exclusivity clause is no longer binding on it being able to be published outside of the almanac. The article is still copyright TWPT and Boudica but now it can be published here on TWPT. You will see other of Boudica's articles appearing here in the months to come as they too become eligible for publication outside of Llwellyn. As always checking back here on a regular basis will make sure that you don't miss the new stuff. Of course there was a new blog that I put up earlier this week about the upcoming Lammas/Lughnasadh celebration so be sure to stop by the site to check it out. You can find it at http://www.twpt.com/blog.htm You can also find it over on Wordpress.com at http://imajicka.wordpress.com/ if you'd like to follow it over there and make some comments on what I am writing about. Either way be sure to keep up with us as we work on expanding our coverage of the Wiccan/Pagan community in the coming months and years. Speaking of expanding coverage you might have seen a new box on the front page of TWPT that is called Cherry Hill Seminary TWPT Column. Holli Emore who is the executive director of Cherry Hill Seminary and I had a nice phone conversation the other day about an idea that Aline O'Brien (M. Macha Nightmare to most of you) who is currently the Board President for CHS had about a project that would help shine a light on what CHS is doing in regards to educating the W/P community through their school. Our conversation laid the foundation of what we will be doing with this column in the future. The gist of it is that we are going to be featuring articles here written by the staff and selected students about their specialities within Cherry Hill Seminary. It is a chance for the readers of TWPT to see just what it is that you can learn by attending CHS and the professors who will be teaching you. By reading material from students as well you will see the end results of what a CHS education means to the community. This column is just getting started so keep an eye out for future installments and we will announce the address of the column right here once we receive the first of the feature articles. If you have any local/national/international news items that concerns the Wiccan/Pagan community or the broader spiritual community as well please be sure to drop me an e-mail letting me know what you found and please include a link to where you found it. Sharing makes everyone aware of the issues you face in a certain part of the United States or in your part of the world that others won't be aware of until you share it on a platform that can let others know. Since TWPT has readers from all around the world I invite those who are reading this from other countries to let us know what is going on in your part of the world as well. With the internet and all the social tools at our disposal these days it is more true than ever that we are all connected to each other in more ways than just spiritual. So be sure to scroll down to the News section on the front page of TWPT and see if all the news you know about is covered there. If not e-mail can always reach me. If my editor at twpt dot com is down please try imajicka at gmail dot com and I'm sure you can reach me. As you've probably seen the music section has once again become active after some time of taking a back seat to the rest of the sections on TWPT and we are hoping to be able to offer you new material there as well. The section is called W/P Beat and will feature music that covers a wide gamut of tastes. Not everything you see there will necessarily be of W/P origin but will probably be of interest to the community at large. W/P music is simply what we listen to as W/Ps and rather than limit it to only W/P music created by W/P artists I intend to cover other genres such as new age, world, folk, techno, ambient, celtic, and any other genre that might find a useful place either in the practice of the reader's spirituality or as fitting accompaniement to meditation or ritual. And of course there is just music that is fun to listen to and we will cover that as well. As Jack Nicholson might say "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy." Again please be our eyes and ears as you cruise the web and find new music that will fit into the above broad statement of what we are going to cover in the music section and drop us a line with the links to what you found. If you are an artist looking for some exposure for your MySpace or Facebook pages and you don't see yourself listed on the Artist Links page in the music section drop me an e-mail and let me know where to find you. The section is located here: http://www.twpt.com/wpbeat.htm and I'm looking foward to your involvement in where it is headed. TWPT has been here for the last 11 years offering you information and a resource that you can recommend to your friends. Please continue to do that and if you have a resource out there on the web and you have a links page of your own consider adding http://www.twpt.com to your links page so that even more people will find their way back here. We are proud that the community has chosen to support us this long and we intend to be here quite a bit longer just doing what it is that we do for the Wiccan/Pagan community. Join us on this journey and let's see where it takes us together. |

Mickie Mueller and TWPT's Logos The announcements page has been sorely neglected over the years because most everything was covered elsewhere on the front page of TWPT and time was never very easy to carve out to keep all the pages updated. So welcome back to an old standby who will now begin to report on the changes that find their way onto TWPT and other changes in the larger Wiccan/Pagan community as well. First off I wanted to acknowledge the wonderful job that Mickie Mueller has done on updating the TWPT logos to reflect the seasons and the celebrations that we recognize throughout the year. The first banner to debut of course was the one Mickie created for Lammas/Lughnasadh which will be celebrated on August 1 or thereabouts depending on your schedule. Of course in the Southern Hemisphere the Wiccan/Pagan community is celebrating the opposite end of the spectrum as they recognize Imbolc and are just starting to come out of the season of cold and rest. Mickie was one of the very first artists that TWPT spoke to way back at the dawn of the website and her artwork captivated Boudica and I back then and can still be found hanging on our walls at home along with the Campanelli's work that we picked up while we were still in Pennsylvania. Below is one of those images that we got from Mickie back then and is still a powerful images all these years later. But we are happy to announce that Mickie did not stop with just creating one banner for TWPT but readers can now expect to see a new one for each turn of the wheel over the next year. Each celebration will see a new banner on the pages reminding the readers that visit the website of what season we are in and dazzling them with images that relate to that turn of the wheel. I have seen the next few banners and each one has the same excellent qualities about it that I have come to expect from Mickie Mueller's artwork. Be sure to drop by her site and take a look at all the images that you will find there and if you like something be sure to buy a copy and hang it on your walls like Boudica and I did with the various artists that we admire. Her site is located here: http://www.mickiemuellerart.com/ Just tell her that Imajicka and Boudica sent you. |
